I am not sure that there is cheap car insurance for teens. When teenagers first start driving, their insurance is high because they do not have the driving experience that older drivers have. Because of the lack of experience, a high percentage of teen drivers will end up in an accident.
This is not to say that there are no options. You should shop around for the best rates for your teen driver. Many times you can save money on their car insurance by staying away from specific car models. Ford Mustangs, Chevy Corvettes, and other sports cars have higher insurance rates than regular sedans and cars. The older the car and whether it has collision coverage on it will also affect the car insurance rate.
